Wind Farm
This website has been prepared for a planning application to An Coimisiún Pleanála for planning permission for a 17-turbine onshore renewable energy development in County Sligo. The Proposed Wind Farm will have an estimated installed capacity of 102MW. The Wind Farm is being submitted directly to the commission as a Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) in accordance with Section 37E of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended.
This website has been prepared for a planning application to An Coimisiún Pleanála for planning permission for a renewable energy development in the townlands of Crowagh or Dunneill Mountain, Tawnadremira, and Ballyglass, Doonbeakin, Dunowla, Kingsmountain and Ballygreighan Barr in Co. Sligo. The proposed development is being brought forward in response to local, national, regional and European policy regarding Ireland’s transition to a low carbon economy, associated climate change policy objectives and to reduce Ireland’s dependence on imported fossil fuels for the production of electricity.
The proposed renewable energy development will comprise the removal of the existing 23 no. turbines on the Dunneill (13 no. turbines) and Kingsmountain (10 no. turbines) Wind Farm sites and construction of 17 no. wind turbines with a blade tip height of 180 metres and all associated infrastructure and works across both existing wind farm sites and additional greenfield sites. The proposal meets the threshold for wind energy set out in the Seventh Schedule of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, on foot of a notice issued by An Coimisiún Pleanála (the Commission) and is therefore being submitted directly to the Commission as a Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) in accordance with Section 37E of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended.
An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statement (NIS) have been prepared in relation to the proposal and accompany the planning application for the proposed development submitted to the Commission.
